The Last Supper

Go ahead, taste the meat;
It's tenderloin! Ah yes it's great!
Succulent and oh so sweet;
No one to say, clean your plate;

Smell the rosemary and the thyme;
Savor their taste, don't eat too fast;
Like butter in your mouth, quite sublime!
Woe this meal, will be your last.

Breathe in deep, the warm sweet air;
Feel the cool grass, cushion your feet;
The sun on your cheek, does not compare;
The birds sing along; tweet, tweet, tweet.

Absorb the beauty with open eyes;
Nature; our gracious host
The sand dove; forlorn, cries
This day's your last so make the most.

Outside kids play;
Abandon, captivates their eyes;
Hear them giggle; now hear them say,
Our last day is no surprise!

The table laid, places set;
A supper exquisite, yet unsurpassed;
The guests are not here yet;
They know this supper will be their last.
